Located at the foot of the Lotus Peak of Jade Emperor Hill, China Silk Museum is opened to the public in February 1992, covering an area of 480,000 square meters.

The buildings of the museum are in a typical national style, but look fashionable. The museum features silk producing achievement that has been going on in China for over 5,000 years. With a floor space of 10,000 square meters, the museum falls into eight exhibition halls, including the Prologue Hall, Historical Relics Hall, Customs Hall, Silkworm Breeding and mulberry Growing Hall, Silk Spinning Hall, Silk Weaving Hall, Silk Printing and Dyeing Hall, Modern Achievement Hall. In the Historical Relics Hall, unearthed silk fabrics with the longest history in the world and some related to the ancient Silk Routs across the desert are presented. In the Modern Achievements Hall, the current silk producing and researching achievements are on display. There is a friendship shop in the museum to sell the fantastic silk products and works of handicraft.
